shoe photography

I just finished a HUGE product photography job; over 60 pair of adult and child shoes:  3 views per pair. It is the second time I have worked with Soft Star Shoes. They're located in Corvallis, Oregon (where Dan and I lived for two years when we first got married) and hand make the most beautifully crafted shoes.

They also sell the CUTEST handmade cat toys. My friend Anna's two cats, Godfrey and Oscar, "modeled" for me. Cats are FUN to photograph.

After photographing these pink leather mary janes, I purchased them. They are SO FREAKING cute!

Since Winston wore these in one of the photographs, he was given this pair of badass boots.
I love soft star shoes, find them online at: www.softstarshoes.com

sibling photographer

I got crazy dirty photographing this brother and sister. I laid in the grass with them; rolled over ants and grub worms. I sat in century old mulch and went home with the nasty dirty pants to prove it. But to get this point of view in a photograph, YOU absolutely HAVE to lay on the ground. Siblings tell me all sorts of stories. Almost every time, I get the facts about who one this or that better their sister/brother. It makes me miss my older brother (just a little). I always wanted to be better than him. I love the shot below. These two get along SO WELL.
Granted, if my brother and I were getting a family photo, I would worry to death what he might tell the photographer, because he is even more outspoken than me (hard to believe, I know). And, we pick on each other too much to get a sweet photo like this: I am in a phase right now with swing sets. I want to photograph every kid swinging, having a good time being a KID. Love the sun rays coming through the pines in this one.

Danielle is going Vintage

cute girlI have been loving the look of vintage processed photographs this past week. I love how old and sepia and grainy they are. Like the photos of my mom when she was six. I will let you know what my client thinks...
And, this family brought their beloved dog along for the portrait session. It must be SO nice to have a dog that sits when you ask him to. Not Marvin. family pet photographWhat do you think? Is it too old-y but not goldy?

golf birthday magazine shoot

Well, I am happy to announce that I had my first Oregon magazine shoot - this Saturday afternoon.I photographed a 7 year-old's golf-themed birthday party for Mom Magazine. The shoot was located at Golf City, which is both a miniature golf course AND a 9 hole par 3. It is pretty well known in Corvallis for the super friendly staff and well stocked bar (I know, because I've played it twice already).putt puttThis is the lucky Birthday boy, who was all smiles after his round. His supercool Mom, coerced him into wearing these silly glasses for me. I ONLY got three shots...birthday boyputt putting for the fun of itAll the kids played mini-golf, these two golfers were serious about the sport (and their golf attire) which I loved.young golf athletesThe golf themed cupcakes were cute (and delicious) and baked by Jessica over at Rocketqueen Cupcakes. A total hit with the kids, this party made me wish I could bake tasty cupcakes. And be 7 again.Rocketqueen Cupcakes, Albany OR
